Mesh Weight Calculator
Any unit input - output in kg. Applies to welded, woven, and wire mesh products.
How to use this tool
Aperture vs. sheet size: the aperture is the clear opening between wires; the Roll / Sheet Length & Width is the overall panel you're ordering - the two are independent.
Square mesh? Just fill the four main fields. You get the weight of the whole sheet/roll, plus a per-m² figure and total coverage.
Rectangular or dual-wire mesh? Open "Rectangular / different wire (optional)" and enter the second aperture and/or cross-wire ⌀. Leave blank for a square, single-wire mesh.
+ Rectangular / different wire (optional)
Fill in all fields to calculate weight
Reference - Welded Mesh Terminology
Formula (rectangular-capable)
pitch_x = aperture_x + line ⌀ ; pitch_y = aperture_y + cross ⌀
n_line = ⌊W / pitch_x⌋ + 1 (each length L)
n_cross = ⌊L / pitch_y⌋ + 1 (each length W)
weight = n_line·L·π(d_line/2)²·ρ + n_cross·W·π(d_cross/2)²·ρ
Square mesh = equal apertures & wires both ways. ±5% tolerance - actual may vary with coating & selvedge.
