Product Overview
Expanded metal is produced by simultaneously slitting and stretching a solid metal sheet to create a distinctive diamond-shaped open pattern - all from a single piece of material with no welds or joints. This one-piece construction gives expanded metal excellent strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding ventilation characteristics, and inherent rigidity, making it ideal for walkways, screens, facades, and filtration applications.
Manufacturing Process
A solid metal sheet is fed through a press that simultaneously cuts and stretches it in a controlled pattern, forming interlocking diamond-shaped apertures without any waste material. The process creates a product that is structurally stronger than the parent sheet while being significantly lighter. Raised (standard) or flattened profiles are produced depending on the application requirement.
